It's time to Dream Again...

Updated: Oct 1, 2019

Did you try something and it didn’t go as planned? Have you ever given something your all only for the results to not land in your favor?

Shake the dust off and get back up! It's time to dream again.

I’ve been there. Whether it be certain job opportunities, pageants I’ve competed in, failed relationships or modeling opportunities- I have most definitely experienced rejection and I know the feeling of intensely desiring something and it just not working out.

If you’re in that boat, you’re not the only passenger. We all have (and/or will) deal with closed doors at some point in life. And to be frank, it can really suck sometimes!

I've learned though-

it’s not always those who get everything the fastest that actually win. Most times, those who maintain a steady pace and reach the goals in their timing are the true “winners” because not only did they reach the goal; they were able to maintain and sustain it.

I’d like to look at closed doors in my life as God’s way of calling me back to Him. It’s our time to regroup, call a huddle break and reassess what it is I’m truly going after. Instead of moping around and allowing fear and depression to settle in- I stir myself up by reminding myself of God’s promises over my life.

I take it all to Him. Literally everything.

I refuse to give up on my dreams or what God has called me to do. I may face a few obstacles. I may get turned away. I may be overlooked. But God sees me. God sees you.

And His plan for us remains. We may just have to take a few detours, and I’ve learned to be okay with that.

Don’t allow the “nos” or the “not right nows” deter you from using your gifts and talents. Consult God asking, “Is this a closed door or is this a test of my faith to keep pressing forward?” The more time you spend with Him, the more His Spirit will impress upon you the right answers for your life.

So what...

- the business failed? If God placed it on your heart, TRY AGAIN!

- that family member rejected you? LOVE THEM ANYWAY!

- that dream job opportunity didn’t come through? GOD STILL HAS A PLAN FOR YOU & SOMETHING GREATER IS ON THE WAY!

It's time to dream again!

As we embark upon this last quarter of 2019, I’m encouraging you to get your fight back! Don’t let the enemy steal your joy or your dreams! Remind yourself of why you started. Let God’s love and creativity pour over you. Let Him direct your path.

Rejection is going to happen. It’s apart of life. Let’s change our perspective and learn from it. Let’s use it as fuel to propel us into the life God has called us to live.

Above all else, I urge you to not allow the fear of dreaming big rob you of the joy and wonder that it can actually bring.

What are some dreams or goals you need to revive and work towards this final quarter of the year? What’s one thing (or two) you’d love to achieve in 2020?  Jot it down.

Hugs to all the Dreamers out there. Keep fighting, babe.
